Vimvi (“we”) values your privacy. We follow applicable laws and use appropriate safeguards to protect your personal information. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using our dating and social services.
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
1. Information We Collect
To provide registration, matching, messaging, content display, and security, we may collect:
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: phone number, verification codes, nickname, avatar, gender, birthday, bio, interest tags, etc.;
- Dating profile: photos, voice intros, education, occupation, and other optional details;
- Communications: text, images, voice, video messages, and feed posts you send;
- Transaction information: records of purchases, memberships, and virtual gifts (excluding full bank card numbers).
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device model, OS, unique device identifiers, app version, network type;
- Log data: login times, activity logs, crash reports, anti-fraud and security data;
- Location: with your permission, approximate or precise location for nearby recommendations and distance display (you may disable location in system settings);
- Camera, photos, and microphone: used only when you upload avatars or send media.
2. How We Use Information
- Create and manage your account and verify your identity;
- Match and recommend users based on your profile and preferences;
- Provide messaging, audio/video calls, feeds, and other core features;
- Process payments and deliver memberships and premium services;
- Protect the Platform and users by detecting fraud, harassment, and violations;
- Improve our product through analytics using de-identified or anonymized data;
- Send service notices and promotional messages (you may opt out of marketing where offered).
3. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only when:
- You consent: e.g., displaying profile details you choose to make public;
- Service providers: cloud storage, SMS verification, payments, push notifications, analytics, etc., under confidentiality and security obligations;
- Legal requirements: in response to lawful requests from courts or regulators;
- Safety: when necessary to protect you, other users, or the public.
4. Storage and Security
- Your information is stored within the People’s Republic of China. Cross-border transfers, if any, will comply with applicable legal requirements including notice and consent where required.
- We use encryption in transit, access controls, and security audits to protect data.
- We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described. After account deletion, we delete or anonymize data unless retention is required by law.
5. Your Rights
Through in-app features or customer support, you may:
- Access and copy your account and certain personal information;
- Correct and update your nickname, avatar, bio, and other profile fields;
- Delete posts and certain content (some logs may be retained as required by law);
- Withdraw consent by disabling location, photo, notification, or other permissions in system settings;
- Delete your account via Settings → Account & Security; we will stop providing services and handle your data as required by law.
6. Third-Party SDKs
The App may integrate third-party SDKs for push notifications, payments, maps, analytics, and similar functions. Those SDKs may collect device and network information as described in their own privacy policies. We assess partners and require lawful, compliant data handling.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Platform is for adults only. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete the account and related data promptly. Guardians who believe a minor has provided information may contact us.
8. Policy Updates
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via in-app notices or this page. Continued use means you accept the updated Policy.
